Spring 2017 Tennis Lessons

May 27th - June 17th, 2017

 

Participants must be members of Maple Ridge Tennis Club to take part in lessons.

Family membership $55;  Adult single membership $30;  Youth membership  $10

JUNIORS (UNDER 18)

Spring Play Teach Play Program:

The emphasis will be on the 5 fundamentals of tennis:

1.    Grip

2.    Set Up

3.    Hit the ball in the center of the racquet

4.    Follow through

5.    Recovery

Duration:  4 weeks, 2 days per week (8 lessons in total)

Days, Dates and Times: 

            Saturdays:  May 27, June 3, 10 and 17

                                  3:30 pm - 5:00 pm (1 ½ hour lessons)

            Mondays:  May 29, June 5, 12, and 19

                                    4:00 pm - 5:00 pm (1 hour lesson)

Cost:  $40/person ( for 4 weeks of lessons, 2 lessons per week)**

Class size:  Minimum -  6 students needed to run program

                    Maximum class size will be 16 students

 

ADULTS (18+)

Spring Skills and Drills Program

Applicable for Beginners and up; including drills for match play, singles and doubles play.

Duration:  4 weeks, 1 dayper week (4 lessons in total)

Days, Dates and Times: 

            Saturdays:  May 27, June 3, 10 and 17

                                  1:30 pm - 3:00 pm (1 ½ hour lessons)

Cost:  $40/person ( for 4 weeks of lessons, 1 lesson per week)**

Class size:  Minimum  6 students needed to run program

                    Maximum class size will be 16 students

 

Your Tennis Instructor:  Ian Ferguson

·       Provides Tennis Instructor Services

·       Offers Group and Private Lessons for Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced Players ($35/hour or 5 lessons for $100.)

·       Runs a Tennis Summer Camp using Soccer for foot work, speed, agility, strength and conditioning

  Camp will run from the end of June through August, 2017.

 

Amberlea Maple Ridge Tennis Clubs

Children & Youth 2017 Summer Tennis Camp

(for Ages 7 to 16)

All participants must be a member of the Amberlea Maple Ridge Tennis club.

PROGRAM:

The Tennis Summer Camp uses Soccer for foot work, speed, agility, strength, and conditioning.

Plus, the emphasis is on the 5 fundamentals of tennis:

  1. Grip
  2. Set Up
  3. Hit the ball in the centre of the racquet
  4. Follow through
  5. Recovery

And just to keep things fun, we also play games such as:

  • Fruit Ninja
  • Graduation Game
  • Detention
  • Kings / Queens’s Court
  • Hit Until You Miss

DURATION:

8 weeks / 5 days per week

DATES AND TIMES:

Monday to Friday (July 3 to August 25, except closed Monday August 7, for the Civic Weekend Holiday)

  • Mornings: 9am to 12pm
  • Afternoons: 1pm to 4pm

RATES:

  • Daily:
    • Half Day: $ 50.00 (per day) Either a morning or afternoon class
    • Full Day: $ 80.00 (per day) Both morning and afternoon classes
  • Weekly:
    • Half Day $ 250.00 (5 days)
    • Full Day $ 400.00 (5 days)

WHAT DO BRING:

Tennis shoes, hat, sunscreen, water, and a lunch *, if desired.

* Except each Friday, when a Pizza lunch will be supplied!

IN THE EVENT OF RAIN:

This is an OUTDOOR tennis facility. Classes will be cancelled, if rain is in the forecast.
